Privacy Policy

Effective November 5, 2026

Canopy Leap (“the game”) is an iPhone game made by Ben Swieskowski (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game and this website use, why, and the choices you have. In short: there are no accounts, your progress stays on your device, and we use a small amount of analytics and ad measurement to understand how the game is played and which ads bring new players.

Information stored on your device

Your progress (levels, stars, gems, items you've unlocked, settings and daily results) is saved on your iPhone, and can be included in your device backups. We don't run servers that store your game progress, and you don't need an account to play. Deleting the game deletes this information.

The game also keeps a short technical log on your device (for example, the last few times the graphics had to restart) to help with troubleshooting. It stays on your device unless you choose to send it to us.

Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service from Google, to understand how the game is played so we can improve it. It collects:

We use the version of Firebase Analytics that does not collect Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy and firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Ad measurement (Meta)

The game includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK so we can measure whether our ads on Meta's platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram) lead people to install and play the game. It sends app events such as installs, app opens, finishing the tutorial, reaching a level, finishing a chapter, playing the daily level and spending in-game gems, along with device information such as the iPhone model and iOS version.

The game asks your permission (Apple's “Allow this app to track your activity…” prompt) before it lets Meta use your device's advertising identifier. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, the identifier is not shared; Meta may still receive the events above and measure ad results in aggregate through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork system. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Meta's privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.

What we don't do

Notifications

If you turn on the evening reminder, the game schedules notifications on your iPhone itself. No information is sent to us to do this, and you can turn them off in the game's Settings or in iOS Settings.

Purchases

If the game offers in-app purchases, they are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details; we only receive confirmation of what was purchased so the game can unlock it.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and reliability. If you email us, we use your email only to reply.

Children

Canopy Leap is a family-friendly game for a general audience, and it isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

How long information is kept

Information on your device stays until you delete the game. Analytics data is kept by Google according to our Firebase retention setting (up to 14 months) and then deleted. Data sent to Meta is kept according to Meta's policies.

Your choices and rights

You can limit tracking in iOS Settings, turn off notifications, or delete the game at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to certain processing. Because the game has no accounts, we may not be able to link analytics data to you, but we will help where we can: email hello@canopyleap.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the game's App Store release notes.
